It has taken us a while to find the right site for Malbec in Margaret River. We find it needs free draining soils, rich in gravel and lower in nutrient load. We had an eye on the block at Celestial Bay for years and finally, in 2019, we were able to start taking some fruit from there.

The season of 2022 was an absolute banger! Warm weather and good yields. Destemmed to open fermenters, inoculated with an organic yeast and plunged twice daily for around 12 days. Left to macerate for a total of 26 days before being pressed to barrel. Matured in a blend of new and two-year-old barrels.

Black forest cake, dark plum and violets with a hint of mocha and oak spice. The palate is lush with great fruit concentration and long, velvety tannins.

We now have a minimum spend of $70, but FREE SHIPPING. Hooray! We’ve scrapped the $20 shipping fee we were charging.
