2023 'Jolliffe Vineyard' Cabernet Sauvignon

$115.00

2023 Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

A wine we never planned to make…

When you meet a grower who has such a special block sometimes reason has to go out the window purely in pursuit of making the best wine possible. This happened to us when we met Mark Jolliffe, grower of arguably some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon in Wilyabrup if not Margaret River. Old vines, un-irrigated, northern facing slopes, high gravel content and Houghtons selection clone with a small amount of SA126.

An absolute classic vintage for Margaret River, fantastic winter rainfall followed by a remarkably balanced growing season. Warm summer days follwed by cool autumn nights. This combination has let to an elegant, powerful, balanced Cabernet from a seriously excellent site in Wilyabrup

As reviewed by Jane Faulkner for Halliday

2023 Jolliffe Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon – 97 Points

The flagship, and for good reason: elegant, poised and rather regal. Everything in harmony – the quality fruit, the enlivening acidity, the beautifully shaped tannins, its length and more besides. It’s not showy, as there’s a level of restraint and evenness; it’s what you’d call a pure wine.
