2024 Gewürztraminer
A wine we never intended to make, an all too familiar tale.
Originally, we sourced this fruit so we could add a little bit of wow to our Sunrider blend, the grower had a little extra and we thought, ‘hey why not!?’
Picked from the Swinney Vineyards in Frankland river at a pretty moderate ripeness so we could retain natural acidity. Soaked on skins to help extract colour and volatile aromatic compounds, before pressing. Fermented in a small stainless-steel tank with naturally occurring yeast.
On the nose think fresh lychee, rosewater, orange peel (negroni) and turkish delight. The palate is light and fresh, orange and rose petal with a gentle texture. Pairs fantastically with Moroccan and Indian food.
