2019 Waldron Syrah
2019 Waldron Syrah
The Clone Project.
2 different clones of shiraz, from the same vineyard, made in the same way and bottled individually.
The Waldron clone is more delicate than the #470. Also known as the Heritage Clone, originating from Hawkes Bay, NZ.
It typically produces wines that are rich and full-bodied with high alcohol and acidity. It is widely planted across New Zealand and parts of Australia.
Handpicked in the early morning, 10% whole cluster added to the bottom of the tank before de stemming the balance on top. The grapes were left untouched for 3 days with wild fermentation starting after 3 days. Plunged daily by foot in an open fermenter and basked pressed, directly to barrel, after 14 days on skins. Matured 10 months in 3-yearold French Demi Muid (600L barrel), bottled unfined (vegan friendly)
**For license purposes, wines are best ordered in 6 or 12 packs.
